Brand
Identity

Two identity systems, built from strategy to execution.

01 — Identity / Coffee Roastery

Strategy · Mark · System

Marrow

Small-batch coffee, roasted with intention.

The thinking

Marrow roasts for people who treat coffee as a daily discipline rather than a lifestyle accessory — a customer who reads the origin card before the price. The brand had to hold warmth and craft without softness, and restraint without coldness. So the system leans on one dense, carved mark and a deep espresso field instead of the category's inherited shorthand: no steam curls, no cup silhouettes, no rustic hand-lettering. The warmth lives in the palette and the paper, not in decoration.

Wordmark / Serif display / -3% tracking

Typography

A high-contrast serif carries the wordmark: it reads as warmth and craft at label scale without tipping into nostalgia. A neutral grotesque handles everything functional — origin data, brew notes, packaging small print — where legibility at 8pt matters more than character.

Application — Bag label

On a 250g bag the label sits as a single cream panel on espresso kraft, aligned to the lower third. The mark is small and left-aligned at the panel's top edge; the wordmark sits directly beneath it on the same axis. Origin, process and roast date run as three monospace lines at the panel's base, separated by a hairline rule. Nothing is centred, nothing is illustrated — the terracotta circle is the only colour event.

02 — Identity / Digital Banking

Strategy · Mark · System

Northbeam

Banking that points you forward.

The thinking

Northbeam is built for people who want their money explained, not gamified. Trust comes first, then clarity, then a sense of forward movement — in that order, because momentum without trust reads as risk. The mark is a single upward beam resting on a base line: fixed at the bottom, directional at the top. It deliberately refuses the category defaults — no abstract swoosh, no globe or network node, no gradient app-icon sheen — because those signal software, not a bank.

Wordmark / Grotesque 800 / -4.5% tracking

Typography

One grotesque, two jobs. The wordmark is set in the heaviest weight and tightened — authority without ornament. Interface and statement copy drop to regular at open tracking, where balances, dates and disclosures have to survive small sizes and low light. Monospace is reserved for account numbers and reference codes.

Application — Login screen

The app opens on a full navy field. The mark sits alone in the upper third, optically centred, at roughly a sixth of the screen width; the wordmark is absent here — the beam is enough. Two hairline input rules occupy the lower half, left-aligned to the same margin as the mark, with mint used only for the active field's underline and the caret. The primary action is a single line of type, not a filled pill.
